A court hearing regarding the accused murderer of Terry Smith Jr. was delayed once again today.
The judge in the case of 17-year-old Skylor Atilano continued the hearing until April 17. His reason, stated in court, was that both sides met with him in chambers before the hearing and advised him they need the time to continue negotiating a possible plea agreement.
Atilano has been accused of the murder of his half brother, 10-year-old Terry Smith Jr., whose body was found buried in a shallow grave in the back yard of the family home in Menifee on July 10, 2013. Hundreds of area residents searched for Terry for three days following his disappearance in a case that received national attention.
