Eastern Municipal Water District was recently awarded the "Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award for 2012" from the National Purchasing Institute. EMWD also received the award in 2003, 2007, and 2010.
The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award is given to organizations that demonstrate excellence in procurement, particularly in the innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes of the procurement function. EMWD scored 135 points out of 140 total points possible.
EMWD is one of only 40 government agencies in California and one of only 29 special districts in the United States to receive the award.
