Menifee's two high school football teams made history this year when both advanced to the semifinals of the CIF Central Division playoffs. Had they not each lost by a touchdown, Heritage and Paloma Valley would have set up a re-match of the annual Menifee Bowl, won this year by Heritage.

The Rotary Club of Menifee recently honored both of the head coaches. Perris High School Superintendent and Rotarian Jonathan Greenberg introduced Heritage Coach Kraig Broach and Paloma Valley Coach Bert Esposito. Each of them spoke briefly about this exciting season and gave credit to the players, the parents, and fans of their respective schools. Mayor John Denver congratulated both coaches on behalf of the City.

After the coach's tribute, Club President Carol Sullivan introduced Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley, newly assigned to represent the Menifee area through re-districting. Ashley is a Perris native and a veteran elected official.

The Menifee Rotary Club is the leading service club in the area, and will be celebrating its 50th birthday on March 16, 2013. Regular meetings are held on Thursdays at noon at the Menifee Lakes Country Club. Questions can be directed to 800-824-6561.
