Advertorial Supplement:
Elite Clinical Trials is looking for patients who have moderate to severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease to participate in a study to test the effectiveness of Tudorza as a treatment.
Turdoza is an FDA approved anticholinergic commonly used to treat COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.Turdoza contains aclidinium bromide, an inhilation powder.
The study will determine whether aclidinium bromide reduces moderate to severe COPD. exacerbation.
The study will also assess the safety of aclidinium bromide on major cardiovascular events.
The study is looking for patients who have moderate to very severe COPD for at least one year and are at least 40 years of age.
The study will last 36 months and has a chance of placebo.
As with all other Elite Clinical Trials studies, participants do not need insurance to pay for their study drugs.
In fact, the drugs pertaining to the study are completely free and the participant is also compensated for the time they spend in the office for the study.
Patients are also reimbursed for their travel time to and from the study office location.
Kim Forrester, the study coordinator, said patients often times struggle to pay the co-pay on their COPD therapy and that this study provides a break from those expensive costs.
“Most patients have had fewer COPD symptoms resulting in fewer COPD exacerbations and hospitalizations,” said Forrester. “ When the study is over, these patients are able to go to their doctor and inform them that they had fewer COPD symptoms with Turdoza and have their PCP prescribe this medication for them versus waiting years for a medication to be approved by the FDA.”
